I love this ornamental plant because of the colors changing from deep purple to white when about to fall off which is also called as yesterday, today and tomorrow flower or Melati Manacca or Melati Kosta in local names.
As it produces strong-fragrant, beautiful flowers, especially white and purple in a tree, this plant can be found in the tropics, like South East Asia, Africa, South America and also in the subtropics like Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand, etc which is occasionally employed in perfumes.
Brunfelsia uniflora was reported to have high healing power, such as; to stimulate lymphatic system, blood cleanser, anti-inflamation, to promote menstrual flows, and many other diseases, but it is a caution of use and suggested to refer to the herbal specialist’ conditions of use for using this plant as a herbal ingredient since it was reported that it also contains high toxicity.
They have their own “change of seasons” like leaves changing colors?

Yes. The color change occurs when the flowers start blooming in dark purple, a few days later gradually turn white until the flowers wither and fall. Thank you, gpcox

Hi Barbara, nice to hear that. Pentunias has similar looking in the flowers and it has more variety of colors too. Most gardeners grow Pentunias in hanging pots or place it out side windows to decorate it since it is so rich in color variety. Thank you for visiting. Best wishes 🙂

Petunias also have a rich, sweet fragrance, but only at dusk. Most people don’t realize this. I love flowers. I like your blog too. Best wishes.
