Originally from South America, this plant is very popular and is often planted in parks and residential areas of the tropical and subtropical regions. Bougainville plants is also called paper flowers because the form of a thin sheath that called the “bract” and having characteristics such as paper. English name is Bougainvillea flower wich is taken from Sir Louis Antoine de Bougainville, a soldier of the French Navy.
Boubainville is a very dense small tree, difficult to grow upright and easy to nurse. The beauty of the color is actually the bright colors bracts, They have various colors and very attractive . The bract of the flower is often considered a part of the flower, although the true flowers are small flowers that are protected by the bracts.
The charm of this flower became the talk of people in Indonesia as impressed with the shape and its attractive colors. The flowers bracts consist of a variety of colors, such as orange, red, pink, pale red, yellow, purple, white, and various blends of colors.
Berasal dari Amerika Selatan, tanaman ini sangat populer dan sering ditanam di taman dan kawasan perumahan yang beriklim tropis dan subtropis. Bougainvillea disebut tanaman bunga kertas karena bentuk seludang bunganya yang tipis dan mempunyai ciri – ciri seperti kertas. Nama Inggris bunga ini adalah Bougainvillea yang diambil dari nama Sir Louis Antoine de Bougainville, seorang prajurit AL Perancis.
Boubainville merupakan pohon kecil dan sangat rimbun yang sukar tumbuh tegak dan mudah cara merawatnya. Keindahan warna bougainville sebenarnya adalah dari warna selundang yang cerah, beraneka ragam warna dan sangat menarik perhatian. Selundang bunga ini sering dianggap sebagai bagian bunga, walaupun bunga yang benar adalah bunga kecil yang terlindung oleh seludang tersebut.
Pesona bunga ini menjadi perbincangan penduduk di Indonesia karena terkesan dengan bentuknya dan warnanya yang menarik hati. Warna bunga ini terdiri dari berbagai macam warna, seperti jingga, merah menyala, merah jambu, merah pucat, kuning, ungu, putih, dan berbagai campuran warna.

These flowers had been shot from different people’s gardens when I was wandering a highland resort during midday. There are still many more colors I usually see. 🙂

What beautiful photos! I had no idea that Bougainville came in so many colors. I see them when I visit California but usually just the deep pink and purple ones.

I love bougainvillea and have two of them in my windows. Luckily they survive each winter…but of course they never get that lavish and abundance of flowers here. Wonderful colours and photos!

I thing this plant also likes the cool temperature with less humidity (below 70%) and not so watery soil. and better at the full sun throughout the day. I am glad to hear that you have them. 🙂
