The Azan as it is pronounced in Indonesia, Afganistan, Iran, Pakistan, Bangladeh, India, Turkey and many other countries or Adhan in Arabic is the Islamic call to prayer which is recited by a person called muezzin (muazzin) in multiple loud pronouncements, at prescribed – five times a day (24 hours). Traditionally, it is pronounced loudly from a minaret of a mosque and in modern times, loudspeakers are installed on the minaret to provide everyone listen to the call easily.
The Azan recitation brings to the mind of every believer and non-believer the substance of Islamic beliefs and its spiritual ideology.

When I was very young I lived near a mosque and the call to prayer is a strong part of my memories. Later in Cairo, the Azan was a familiar sound. Here in Christchurch we have a mosque but I haven’t heard the Azan from there. Maybe I live too far away. I would like to hear it again.

My house is in perfect vicinity. 40 mts away is the mosque, 130 mts away is the Hindu temple. Azan and Hindu prayers are clearly audible through the day. Also, 10 mts away is the graveyard across the road, next to that is the cremation ground. Very very close 🙂

There are only two ladies at the neighborhood. both of them almost lost of hearing, when I talk to one of them, they laugh at once ! I am always confused, but my eyes just sink in fascination of their wrinkles who are sitting on the rickety chairs. It’s a nature of the nature.

This is why I choose to call you Master. When you talk, the world shuts up. When you express deep down emotions of who you truly are, it moves the very essence of my being.
Master, someday I hope you’ll share pictures of your life and the two amazing women who’ve blessed you with their presence.
