Down to the street flea market was not my intention. It was by coincidence I just walk down there unwind after finished shopping in traditional market. By chance I pass by a secondhand book store that was located right at the end of the other side of the street.
Shortly, I just glance at a pocket-size worn out thick book laying on the pile of other worn books that were being displayed by the store maid. I was sure it was not a novel.
The book I am talking about is a book that had become very valuable for me, although it was published in 1983. Here are the pictures that can tell you a lot about it.
Oh yes, the book price was only IDR.10,000.00 equal to USD.1.00 and comparing when the first owner bought it for £.7.95. Hmm,… I thought it was equal to less than the price of a pack of cigarette!

I find often that the older books are sometimes the best! I have a birding book from 1955 “american Birds in Color” – the photos are not as good as now with the modern cameras but the texts are much better! 😀 tomas

Yes, absolutely correct. most of old books are very comprehensive and give more detail description about the subjects. I agree with it. 🙂

Hi dear friend, I bought it at the second-hand book store in my country. I have no idea if the book is still available at other store throughout the world. It seemed that the last re-printed was in 1986. 🙂

Isn’t it fun to find a second hand book on flowers that you love? I just bought a wildflower field guide last week for 1/2 price, and it’s helping me, because the one I have is hard to use. The last photo is gorgeous!!

Absolutely yes, it is. Nice to hear you got half of the price for the book. You inspired me to seek another book about wild flowers too (which I don’t have any). The last photo is a new vine plant that I purchased from a nursery two months ago after a very long time search. Just started bearing the flowers. You can see the picture of this plant through this link : http://www.junglekey.fr/search.php?query=Quisqualis+indica&type=image&lang=fr®ion=fr&img=1&adv=1&fqhist1=Quisqualis+indica&start=150 and see how beautiful it is when fully flowering. Best wishes, Blue.
