remembering INDONESIA freedom

INDONESIA is an archipelago country on the equator of Southeast Asia with more than 17 thousand islands in its vast territory, stretching from the west (Sabang) at the tip of Sumatra island to the east (Merauke) on the island of Papua or New Guinea.

On August 17,2013, all citizens of the country comprising of more than 250 million people is celebrating the 68th independence day. The freedom to determine their own future in  an acclamation; to own one Motherland,INDONE SIA, one Nation, INDONESIAN and one language,  BAHASA INDONESIA,

knowing The Flag

Dwi Warna, Merah Putih, Red and White means courage in purity

Its colors are derived from the banner of the 13th century Majapahit Empire. Nevertheless, both of the colors were also used in the flag of many Kingdoms and Sultanates around the many islands and later,  were revived by students and the nationalists in the early 20th century as an expression of nationalism against the Dutch.

Garuda Panca Sila

The Mythical Golden Garuda Eagle on a white signed ribbon BHINEKA TUNGGAL IKA (UNITY IN DIVERSITY) in feathers; 17 on each wing, 8 on the tail, and 45 on the neck representing the date of the state independence, August 17. 1945.

A shield on the Garuda contains the symbols of the five principle of lives PANCA SILA; Star stands for Believe in the only one Supreme God, Chain stands for Just and Civilized humanity, Banyan tree stands for Unity of Indonesia, Bull head stands for Democracy guided by the inner wisdom in the unanimity arising out of deliberations amongst representatives, Rice and Cotton stands for Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia.

Indonesia independence was proclaimed by Soekarno and Hatta on August 17,1945 in Jakarta

Pada tanggal17 Agustus 2013, seluruh warga negaranya yang terdiri lebih  dari 250 juta jiwa itu merayakan hari kemerdekaannya yang ke-68. Kemerdekaan untuk menentukan masa depan sendiri dalam satu pengakuan bersama untuk memiliki ; satu Tanah tumpah darah,INDONESI A, satu Bangsa, INDONESIA dan satu bahasa, BAHASA INDONESIA.
