Absolutely beautiful images. Were these taken at a special orchid competition/display? By the way, do you ever see the vanilla bean orchid?

No, they were not. These are some of the Botanical Garden’s collection. I used to see Vanilla garden in Sumatra, I had one in my garden but never bare the flowers. It maybe because of the cool weather here or less sunlight.

I see. I don’t know what are the best conditions for vanilla. I think it does well in Tahiti. It certainly wouldn’t grow in my garden :D.

People grow the vanillas in open land with small trees as the shade, full sunlight almost the whole day.

So beautiful, my favorite is the last one. They are becoming more and more popular here in the U.S. It used to be that you had to go to a special nursery to buy an orchid plant – now you can buy them at every supermarket – pretty nice ones, and for a very good price! The world grows smaller…

Do they sell cut flowers or the whole plants? does the plants grow outdoor too in your place? that sounds interesting.
