    • From its physical appearance both of the plants has the same forms of the vine and its leaves. Clerodendrum is a genus in the family Lamiaceae and according to botanic record has about 150 to 400 species. It is amazing, isn’t it?The first picture is Clerodendrum thomsoniae and the second one is C. Quadriloculare. Its common names include glorybower, bagflower and bleeding-heart vine which is mean to differ from the Dicentra spectabilis. 🙂

  1. The genus – thanks for correcting me – glorybower is a name I’ve heard. I know people in warm American climates plant Clerodendrum, but probably not up here in the Pacific northwest. We do have plenty of Dicentra though – growing wild and cultivated.
