Musk rose was originally wild and they are native to many parts of the world. Over dozens of years it has been specially bred to produce wide variety of growing habits and a broad range of shapes and colors.
Most of the roses are widely used as symbol of love, sympathy and sorrow, very close to everyone nose. Oh yes, it is also used as a pretty girl’s name.

“Oh yes, it is also used as a pretty girl’s name”. Not the MUSK part of the name. There is an ox named Musk Ox, though 🙂 🙂 Through common usage, most English speakers don’t think of musk as smelling so attractive. It is associated with animals and animal pheromones more often 🙂 🙂 Ironically various musks are used as a base note in commercial perfumes 🙂

Ha! Only at certain times not referred to in polite company. And not ever “pretty girls” . Ever. there are Musk Ox, Musk Deer, the musk gland of beaver, male elephants have on their heads, etcetera, none of which smell too attractive to humans. Even dog have them, only they are called anal glands. Cats, big and small have ’em. But “pretty girls” and “musk” do not belong together. “Girls” being innocent children. Language is funny 🙂 🙂

Well, I always think that women like me because I am a MUSK. I am not sure the word “musk” is derived from Indonesia language “MUSKulin” = masculine or musculus.
