Boys are bathing against the current
Tanaman berbunga indah yang belum pernah saya lihat sebelumnya (the beautiful flowering plant that I’ve never seen before)

Cigudeg is rich in natural resources includes its waters. they come from some major rivers and creeks flow from mountains and hilly areas. The custom of most villagers live near the river bank utilize the river for MCK, an acronym for Mandi (bath) Cuci (wash) and Kakus (toilet). This habit is very common done by the villagers in almost around the country.
After several day rainfalls, last Saturday was a shiny day, a great day for my family and I have a chance to drive around the village and stop for a while at one of a riverside. We took a walk for some distance on the graveled riverbank and enjoyed the scenery of the landscapes are so beautiful.
At the other side of the river, we saw some villagers washing cloths and some boys swiming against the current in almost chocolate like waters after the rain.
They looked so happy no matter whether the water is not clean or not clear.

Nature provides all. Washing cloths by hands on the rocks requires skillfulness and proper technique in order to get best result, for the villager it’s called a technology. Beside that is fun, they can chat to each other even gossiping. 😀

What a beautiful flower that is – I’m sure you will figure what it is. I love the rocks on that river! And I bet the boys were screaming with delight, but I”m also grateful that I grew up with cleaner places to swim and bathe.

About the flower, I have a bit difficulty to figure it out since it’s not listed in my reference book of plants. when I was a child this river was so clean, especially during dry seasons. I used to swim in other parts of this river, further upstream and I still remember its beauty when the nature was not disturbed like what it looks today. The Population has been exploding for over 30 years and uncontrolled disturbance on the environment is very alarming.
